11 duels won, 91% pass accuracy: 'Superb' Newcastle target shone on international duty
Newcastle United transfer target Glen Kamara shone on international duty for Finland against Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League.
Indeed, the St. James’ Park faithful are one of several teams in the Premier League, and across Europe no less, that are reportedly interested in signing the Glasgow Rangers star, and based off of his fine display for his country, it is hard not to see why.
Kamara was instrumental
Kamara was instrumental in his side’s 2-1 win, with his 7.3 overall rating on Sofascore one of the highest out of any player that set foot onto the pitch.
The defensive midfield player won no fewer than 11 of his duels in the game, and he also achieved a 91% pass accuracy, the highest out of any of his teammates.
Kamara also managed to make five tackles, two interceptions, one clearance and one key pass, highlighting his influence on his team, both on and off of the ball.
Gerrard has been full of praise for Kamara
Indeed, Steven Gerrard has been full of praise for Kamara for his performances at club level so far in the 2020/21 term, even claiming that the 25 year-old was ‘superb’ in his team’s 2-0 win in the Old Firm derby against Celtic just a few weeks ago.
Kamara has been ever-present in the Gers’ rise to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, making 10 appearances in total, and his winning mentality on top of his outlined ability could be a key asset for Steve Bruce’s side as they aim to finish as high up in the Premier League standings as possible.
