£4.05m-valued Glasgow Rangers star tipped to make big Premier League move

Romania manager Mirel Radoi has said that Ianis Hagi could move to the Premier League within two years.

Hagi completed a permanent move to Ibrox earlier this summer after scoring three goals in 12 matches during a loan spell which started in January. The 21-year-old cost the club £3m, and Steven Gerrard will be hoping he can have a big impact on the Gers’ fight for silverware this year.

Radoi, though, has been talking up a move to England already. He said:

“With the qualities he has, Ianis would have been more suited to move to a club in Spain rather than Rangers. The style of football would have suited him better.

“But with his talent, it would come as no surprise to me at all if he moves to England within two years and plays for a big club in the Premier League.

“He is already a top player and will be a huge success at Rangers.”

This is not exactly what Ross Wilson and co will want to hear – it is not great that Hagi’s national team manager is already suggesting he could make a move south of the border without him having kicked a competitive ball during his permanent time at Ibrox.

However, a move to the Premier League would be good news for the Gers eventually. Firstly, it would mean £4.05m-valued man – as per Transfermarkt – has been a huge success in the blue side of Glasgow and, given the funds available to sides in England, it could mean a big fee for the club themselves.

For now, though, the Romanian must prove he has what it takes to set Scottish football alight.
