Report: 'Privilege' for £1.44m target to play for Glasgow Rangers according to ace's entourage
As per The Glasgow Times, Kristiyan Malinov would be interest in a move to Glasgow Rangers this summer.
The Gers are said to be interested in the Bulgarian, who currently plays for CSKA Sofia.
Vitesse Arnhem, VVV Venlo, Mechelen and Standard Liege, along with German and Turkish clubs, are all said to be interested in the midfielder, but a source has told the Glasgow Times that it is a “privilege” for Malinov to be on the Gers’ shortlist.
“Rangers is a brand in European football. Everybody knows them, so having interest from Rangers is a big deal for Kristiyan and it is a privilege for him to be among contenders on their wish list,” said a source close to the player.
The 13-time Bulgaria international has been a regular for his current side over the last three seasons, playing in over 20 matches in each term in the league. Given the amount of interest in his services, he clearly has something to his game, and at 26 years old, he must be approaching his peak.
Having said that, there is plenty of competition already in Glasgow Rangers’ midfield, with the likes of Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis to contend with – can Steven Gerrard really fit the £1.44m-valued man (as per Transfermarkt) into his side?
Yes, it would give the boss more choices, but at the end of the day it would potentially cause more problems than its worth with trying to keep one more player happy. This is one both Gerrard and Ross Wilson should consider in plenty of detail.
