'Still doesn't have PL quality', 'Puts in a shift' - These Villa fans remain divided on ace
Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to the performance of winger Trezeguet who netted a brace against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Claret and Blue outfit needed nothing but a win against Palace at Villa Park as they continue to battle for their top flight status.
Dean Smith’s side have largely been inconsistent during the course of the season and the 2-0 win proved to be their first since the Premier League restart.
Whilst collectively, the Villa squad have been inconsistent, certain players have found the Premier League hard to adapt to.
Trezeguet, who arrived at Villa last summer from Kasimpasa, has been one of those, netting just three goals and gaining two assists prior to Sunday’s game.
His two-goal performance gifted the Midlands outfit all three points on Sunday afternoon and Smith has been waxing lyrical about the Egyptian winger as a result.
Dean Smith: “He’s performed really well in the last two games. He fully deserves his place. Trez is another one who came into the place last summer & it’s taken a while to adapt. His attitude is spot on & he works his socks off.” [birmingham live] #avfc pic.twitter.com/Cgym4YrYpU

Plenty of Villa fans have been reacting to those words and Trezeguet’s performance, but it seems opinion is still split on the winger. Some were willing to praise him after his display but others, perhaps more mindful of his overall performance this season, are still not convinced by him…
Still doesn’t have the PL quality but you can’t question the work ethic and he puts himself in the right place at the right time. Hope this gives him a little confidence on the ball when on the wing these last few games

More of a poacher in box thou, rather than winger

Great win build on that Thursday. If we play like that next 3 games 7 points at worst 9 at best#UTV

Said last week he was an headless chicken, still gives that impression but can’t be too harsh, he puts in a shift unlike El Ghazi

That’s why I have always preferred trez to elghazi.

I think everyone took the mick because it was funny and easy, we’ve always appreciated his effort and work rate.
