Report: Arsenal set to battle Manchester United and Everton for 18 y/o

It seems like Arsenal are looking towards Ligue 1 for their next signing, as they are one of a few Premier League sides interested in midfielder Joel Ngoya.

According to France Football, via Daily Express, Arsenal are rivalling Manchester United and Everton for Lille midfielder Joel Ngoya. The 18-year-old was expected to sign his first professional contract before April but never received an offer, and the situation has seemed to become a bit of a problem with Ngoya now considering his options.

Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon and Rennes in Ligue 1 are all hopeful of snapping him up on a free transfer, whilst Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have submitted a five-year contract that includes a £270,000 signing bonus, per France Football via Daily Express.

Ngoya is seen as a player for the future and the amount of clubs interested in him highlights that the player definitely seems a talent. However, he has yet to play for Lille’s senior team and Arsenal already have a lot of good youngsters who have already graced the Premier League in the same position.

Joe Willock and Matteo Guendouzi are a couple of the players who are young and already impressing in the squad, so it does raise the question as to whether Ngoya is needed right now.

It would probably be best if the Gunners focused on other options who could make more of an impact on their team right now than in the future.

Gunners fans, what are your thoughts on the transfer links with Ngoya? Comment below with your views!
