Report: Big decision made on immediate future of £810k-valued Gers ace
Glasgow Rangers’ Ross McCrorie has extended his loan spell at Portsmouth until the end of the League One play-off campaign.
McCrorie joined the south-coast outfit on a short-term basis at the start of the current campaign, and would already be back at Ibrox had it not been for the current pandemic.
The regular season has already been brought to an end, but Portsmouth will compete in the play-offs as they look to earn promotion to the Championship, and it is has been confirmed that McCrorie will help them in their efforts.
At the age of 22, £810,000-valued McCrorie – as per Transfermarkt – is a young talent that likely has a big future at Ibrox. Even at his age, he has 55 appearances to his name with the Gers and, although he has played just 17 times in the league for Pompey this term, they are clearly eager to see him stay in their attempts to earn promotion.
For the Gers, as well, this is likely to be a move that will please them. They are not playing at the moment, with Scottish top-tier football set to return in August, so this allows him to play competitively and, with the play-offs being a high-pressure environment, it should provide him with valuable experience that he can put to good use when he returns north of the border.
