'No business starting any match again' - Many int'l fans slam Gers star who 'looked lost'
Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo was in action for Nigeria on Tuesday during the qualification process for the African Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles were away at Sierra Leone, and Gers star Aribo was included in the starting line-up along with fellow Ibrox man Leon Balogun. However, neither were able to inspire their country to victory, with Nigeria having to make do with a goalless draw.
In their post-match ratings, Goal.com were far from glowing in their appraisal of the 24-year-old’s performance. They said:
“Played on till the second-half, but was largely peripheral for the second game running in midfield.
“Withdrawn in the final 10 minutes.”
It was a disappointing night for Aribo, and it seems the Nigeria fans were also far from happy with his showing. They took to social media platform Twitter to share their displeasure with the former Charlton man, lambasting the Gers maestro as ‘lost’ while one supporter said he has ‘no business’ starting matches.

Ndidi and Etebo remain our two best midfielders if both are fit Aribo has no business starting any match again

A very terrible pitch in Freetown, unfit for even pry sch game. One good thing of the game is maduka, dropping him wud have affected his confidence level, glay he kept a clean sheet. Aribo seems unfit for Africa opponents. Musa ought to start from the bench if he must play.

Aribo look lost all through.

Etebo has been the best Nigerian player so far. The only person who looks so comfortable on this terrible pitch. His partner Aribo looks lost; Iwobi is trying to his best but the pitch isn’t helping him. #SLENGA
