Report: Everton talks to sign £18m Ancelotti target delayed after PL rival's interest
Everton talks with Isco have been delayed as Real Madrid are aware of previous interest from Arsenal in the player.
According to El Confidencial, there have been talks over the Goodison Park faithful making an offer of €20m (£18m) to sign him in the January transfer window, but Zinedine Zidane’s team reportedly want to delay those talks in case another side such as the Gunners would like to swoop in and potentially make a better offer.
Indeed, the news outlet also talks about the interest from Carlo Ancelotti in his former player, and it may well be a match made in heaven if the Merseyside club can get a deal over the line.
Isco could thrive under Ancelotti
Indeed, Isco could thrive under his former boss, as he scored 17 goals and made a further 22 assists in 106 games in all competitions over two consecutive terms while playing for Ancelotti with the Spanish giants (Transfermarkt).
The Spain international may also relish the chance to play with his former teammate in James Rodriguez, who can help him adapt to life in the Premier League.
Is Isco worth the money?
Given what he has achieved so far in the beautiful game, it would be a no brainer for the Toffees to sign the 28 year-old in January if the fee is really as low as £18m.
He has scored no fewer than 82 goals in total both for club and country over the course of his whole career as well as assisting 65 times, with over 400 matches under his belt at the highest level (Transfermarkt).
Indeed, the attacking midfield player would no doubt be a shrewd signing by the Blues if they can pull the deal off.
