96% pass accuracy, 5/7 duels won: £1.53m-valued Gers star shines despite crushing setback
Glasgow Rangers star Ryan Jack impressed for Scotland despite their crushing defeat to Israel in the UEFA Nations League.
Jack shines
The Ibrox outfit’s midfielder played the full 90 minutes in Netanya as the Tartan Army lost 1-0. The defeat means that they will remain in League B of the Nations League after finishing second in the group, and the loss is also a big setback to their chances of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
Jack, at least, can be delighted with his display. He was comfortable in possession, managing to complete a remarkable 96% of his attempted passes, whilst he also prevailed in five of his seven duels.
A guarantee for Scotland
There have been some disapproving voices of the former Aberdeen midfielder on the international stage in the past. However, his recent form suggests that he should be a guaranteed starter for Steve Clarke’s side. It is no surprise that this was Scotland’s first defeat in eight games with Jack in the middle of the park.
Steven Gerrard will also be delighted with this showing. Not only does it show he is unlikely to see his form drop any time soon, but it indicates that he is able to adapt to different situations at the drop of a hat. Versatility is a trait that the £1.53m-valued man (Transfermarkt) can put to very good use in the future both for club and country.
In other news, international fans slammed this Rangers star’s display.
