'Whatever suits the Chamber of Secrets', 'Laughing stock' - Many RFC fans slam SPFL 'disgrace'
Glasgow Rangers could hardly have hoped for a better start to the 2020/21 season.
As it stands, the Ibrox outfit are top of the Premiership, having won nine and drawn two of their first 11 games. Following their 2-0 victory away at Celtic Park on Saturday, the Hoops will need the Gers to drop points in order to catch them. Not only that, they have also made the group stages of the Europa League, with their first match in that competition coming against Standard Liege on Thursday.
Of course, the last few months have been turbulent in Scottish football. The previous season, for example, was not finished on the pitch, with Celtic being awarded the title with eight games left to play. The coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing, and yet the SPFL are yet to come up with a contingency plan if the term cannot be finished.
According to BBC Sport, the governing body has contacted the 42 clubs in the country’s top four tiers about a potential plan. This has not pleased the Rangers fans, who have had run-ins with the footballing authority in the past. They believe that, as Celtic were given the title when they were top last term, a precedent has already been set. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one supporter slamming it as ‘corrupted’ and a ‘disgrace’.
Let’s see what the Rangers fans had to say about this latest move

Everyone knows this isn’t true. It will be whatever suits the Chamber Of Secrets. Their house of cards is collapsing

What’s to talk about, they set rules last season. This stinks again!

State of this. Get it played out, or at least make sure half the games are played.

Has Doncaster learned nothing from last year? Rules on an incomplete season should have been agreed before the season started. Given that no rules were agreed, the fairest thing is to use the precedent set last season.
