Big injury update impacts Gers and Gerrard ahead of Poznan clash as news emerges on 6-assist ace
Lech Poznan star Pedro Tiba is a doubt for the Polish outfit ahead of their Europa League clash against Glasgow Rangers on Thursday.
Tiba a doubt
Tiba has been in fantastic form for Poznan so far this campaign. In 12 games, he has managed three goals and an even more impressive six assists.
Now, though, it has been revealed that he may not be available for his team, with him having already missed the league game at the weekend against Cracovia.
Gerrard must still be wary
Losing Tiba would of course hurt Poznan – he also picked up 10 assists in all competitions last season. However, even without the 32-year-old Portuguese playmaker, there is still cause for Steven Gerrard and co to be wary.
For example, rising talent Filip Marchwinski has already made 45 appearances for Poznan despite being just 18 years of age, whilst Mikael Ishak already has nine goals in 13 games since moving from Nurnberg during the summer. Others, such as Dani Ramirez and Jakub Moder, could also cause Gerrard’s side plenty of problems.
However, after having won 14 from their first 16 games this campaign, drawing the other two, Gerrard will be feeling confident enough that his team can get the job done in their next match, especially if Tibia is not there to create chances for his side.
