'Join the dots' - New Newcastle takeover claim made following recent developments

Richard Keys has made a new claim on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United as he made a backtrack on an original claim that he made in his online blog.

As per the former Sky Sports now beIN Sports presenter’s blog, he claimed on Monday that he was told that the prospective takeover in the North East would happen on Friday, but he has since gone back on this by posting a tweet on his official Twitter page.

As per the tweet, Keys said that an announcement should not be expected because of certain events that have happened earlier on in this week, concluding that his followers should ‘join the dots’.

Indeed, the Premier League announced the new upcoming summer transfer window dates on Wednesday following the global pandemic outbreak that forced the current 2019/20 season to be delayed.

According to the official website of the top flight, the window will open for 10 weeks at the end of the current campaign in England’s highest division, starting on the 27th July and ending on the 5th October.

Following a discussion with the English Football League (EFL), a domestic-only window will be added from the 5th October, closing at 5 p.m. BST on the 16th October.

During this time, clubs from the Premier League will only be able to trade teams from the EFL, either in terms of loans or permanent deals.

However, no transfers can take place between sides from the top flight in this period, and the proposals are subject to the approval of FIFA.

Keys believes that events like this one have affected his original claim, as it is now anyone’s guess as to when the final announcement will be made.

Geordies, does the final decision need to be made before the end of the season? Comment below!
