'A step in the right direction', 'Very happy' - Many SWFC fans buzz at link to Man City man
Sheffield Wednesday had a great result at the weekend as they managed to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-0, and it looks like there is more positive news for the club and their fans as they have been linked with Manchester City youngster Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
According to journalist for The Star Joe Crann, the 19 year-old midfielder is keen to join the Owls and both clubs have agreed terms which could see the player depart.
Dele-Bashiru has one year left on his contract at the Premier League side and he wants to join Wednesday because he wants more regular game time in a senior team. Within the youth ranks at City, the player has played 69 times, scoring six and assisting three, per Transfermarkt.
This is good news for the club, and the fact they look to be able to pluck a youth player from Manchester City’s set up should excite supporters. City have had a decent record with academy players of late, with Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden both coming through the system there.
Here is what fans have said following the news:

Very happy about this if it’s true. Smart move.

I’d say he’s for first team if he’s leaving city, surely wouldn’t leave to play u23. I don’t know anything about the lad but this is the type of signing we need. Potential, young and hungry. If he’s a flop so be it but better than a 30 year old on a 3 year deal past his best

Definitely the sort of player we should be after as we look to rebuild. Young and wants to play and will have a potential sell on value if he does well.

Finally a step in the right direction with recruitment
Picking up players like this give us so much more energy, and it’s low risk, potential high reward. https://t.co/16kfovLHqX

Do you think it will be for the first team or U23 side @YesWeCrann? Does it not seem strange we are signing players when we don’t know the outcome of the EFL case and what division we will be in next season with any possible point deduction?
