Glasgow Rangers have been linked with a number of different strikers over the past few weeks.
The ‘Gers have been mentioned alongside players such as Saido Berahino and Lyndon Dykes and the latest name reportedly on their radar is Peterborough United’s Ivan Toney. The 24-year-old was in stunning form in League One before the campaign was brought to a premature close, scoring 24 goals – more than any other player in the division.
Posh owner Barry Fry originally claimed that he wanted £15m for his services (Daily Mail via Daily Record) but now Football Insider are reporting that the Gers believe they could sign him for a fee of around £5m, which equates to just 33% of that original price.
This has received plenty of attention from the club’s supporters and it seems that plenty would be keen to see him move to Ibrox. However, there does seem to be a worry that his capture could be the end of Alfredo Morelos at the club.
