'Fakeover', 'Mel Morris has a lot to answer for' - Many Derby fans shook by John Percy's claim

Many Derby County fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by the Daily Telegraph’s John Percy regarding the non-payment of The Rams players and executives.

This post was made in response to another tweet which was posted by The Athletic’s Derby correspondent Ryan Conway, which revealed that some Rams players are still waiting on their wages for December, with frustration brewing ‘over a perceived lack of communication.’

Percy chimed in to explain that this non-payment at Pride Park is due to Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan‘s takeover not being completed, with the journalist explaining that the deal was supposed to go through before Christmas – as the club had claimed – before he went on to urge the prospective new Rams owners to offer a public statement on whether or not the deal is actually going to go through.

So, how have these Derby County fans reacted to Percy’s claim?

The journalist’s post drew a concerned reaction from many fans of the East Midlands club, with some Derby supporters pointing the finger of blame at current Rams owner Mel Morris and one particular fan of the Rams even sharing that they don’t want Sheikh Khaled to take over the club anymore.
