West Ham eye move for ‘powerful’ £10.8m-valued ‘great coup’ after Antonio worry
According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham United are eyeing a potential swoop to land Real Madrid attacker Mariano Diaz as they have been offered the chance – with this report claiming he could move to east London.
Diaz, who has found game time difficult to come by under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, has been offered out to the Hammers and David Moyes as the manager seeks to bolster his forward options amid fitness worries for Michail Antonio.
Diaz offered to West Ham
Sam Inkersole, writing for football.london, has claimed that Moyes faces a lengthy battle to keep Antonio at 100% capacity with his long history of hamstring problems – potentially motivating the club to find further striking options.
Now, as per the Daily Mail, West Ham have the chance to land Diaz on an initial loan with a second move away for the forward now beckoning – and he has been labelled in the past as a ‘great coup‘.
Valued at £10.8 million by Transfermarkt, the Hammers could avoid paying an initial fee of that size by trialling him on a temporary stint – with an option to buy potentially likely.

Diaz is also a ‘powerful‘ centre-forward who could provide a different dimension in attack to that of Antonio, an aspect of his game that could please West Ham supporters as the search for a striker continues.
Moyes has also been linked with moves for Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic, but it remains to be seen whether West Ham to manage to land a much-needed attacker in January.
