Tim Spiers drops subtle hint that could see a 10-year Wolves record broken

Wolves have some tricky fixtures on the horizon as they head towards the Christmas period, and Tim Spiers’ hint could excite supporters.

Spiers eyes up Anfield encounter

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side sit in ninth place in the Premier League table during the international break after eight games, which was helped by their unbeaten streak during October (via Fotmob).

During December, Wolves will face three teams out of the ‘big six’, which includes Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have huge injury concerns at the time, with some crucial first-team defenders ruled out with long-term injuries, including Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez (via talkSPORT).

Spiers, who covers Wolves for The Athletic, highlighted when Wolves take on the Merseysiders in the Premier League.

The West Midlands outfit will be boosted by Liverpool’s woes and could have the chance of overturning a 10-year streak without a win at Anfield in the Premier League, with their last win coming in 2010 after Stephen Ward scored the only goal of the game for a side led by Mick McCarthy (via BBC Sport).

Transfer Tavern take

No team has beaten Liverpool at their own place since 2017 and Wolves could be the first team to do so during that timeframe.

With the attacking players that Nuno has at his disposal, they are capable of doing some serious damage to the Reds’ makeshift backline.

Of course, Wolves will have to be at their best. If they have Raul Jimenez firing however, they have a real chance of making history.

In other news, Wolves fans loved what Conor Coady did during England training.
