Sports'Stop talking', 'Keep quiet' - Many AVFC fans react to Ian Wright's comments on 'real baller'
Many Aston Villa fans have been reacting to the latest comments of Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who was full of praise for midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Wright was speaking following the Villa match against Arsenal, which Villa won 3-0, and he said: “Someone like Douglas Luiz, he is ready to be one of the best midfield players in the Premier League. He is so underrated. They blasted us (on Sunday). We had no chance. It was men against boys.”
The Brazilian moved from Manchester City in the summer of 2019 and is a regular on the Villa team sheet. He is very good at breaking up opposition attacks for Smith and he has shown this in the current campaign. The 22 year-old has managed, on average, one tackle and 1.4 interceptions a game this season (WhoScored). A player like this is crucial to allow the likes of Jack Grealish to flourish further forward.
Many of the fan base are hoping that this praise quietens down though, as Manchester City can still buy the Brazilian back due to a clause in the original deal that Villa made with the Citizens.
