Sports'Proved me and so many others wrong’ - Many AVFC fans worship ‘hero’ who has ‘improved so much’
Many Aston Villa fans were delighted to see Trezeguet start in their defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion. It was a momentous occasion for the player as it was his 50th appearance for the club.
The Egyptian only has one assist so far this season in the top flight. However, he has produced a decent attacking threat, managing 2.4 shots, one key pass and 1.3 successful dribbles per game (WhoScored).
He received a lot of praise for this achievement, with one fan calling him a ‘hero’, whilst another lauded the player’s improvement since his arrival.
Despite this praise, it wasn’t his day against the Seagulls as he missed a sitter which could have seen Dean Smith’s side equalise early on. He actually ended the match with seven shots, none of which hit the target (SofaScore).
The fact that he missed this chance and that he has only managed seven goals in 49 appearances before this game (Transfermarkt) suggests that he is definitely not the full package, but at just 26 years of age he has plenty of time to improve.
Hopefully he can be more prolific this campaign, as the club sit comfortably in the top half as it stands.
