‘Needs to start’, ‘He’ll be massive’ - Many MUFC fans laud ‘exquisite’ star ahead of huge week

Many Manchester United fans have been lauding Edinson Cavani after former Spurs and Chelsea star Gus Poyet spoke about him in an interview with the Daily Mail.

The ex-Uruguay international claimed that Cavani is ‘going to be more important for Manchester United than people think’ and also hailed the goal that he scored versus Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Indeed, that is the only strike that Cavani has managed to net in his five games for his new club in all competitions so far in the 2020/21 term (Transfermarkt), but there is no doubt that the 33-year-old can provide more goals for Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer’s team given his pedigree in the beautiful game.

Cavani has managed to score a quite staggering 342 times in his club career so far and he has also scored 51 senior goals for Uruguay (Transfermarkt).

With a huge week coming up in which Man United play West Brom at home in the top flight, bearing in mind that they have not yet won at home in the league, and Istanbul Basaksehir in the UEFA Champions League, against whom they lost away from home, it may be a chance for Cavani to show Solskjaer that he should be starting more matches.

Manchester United fan reaction to Poyet comments on Cavani

These members of the Old Trafford faithful lauded the comments from Poyet on Cavani, with one Red Devils supporter even claiming that the runs that the striker makes are ‘exquisite’:
