Sports'Wow', 'Still got it' - Some Palace fans drool over 'great' clip of 'unplayable' ace
Crystal Palace had a few noticeable names in their U23 side which faced Wolves on Monday. Christian Benteke was one of them, and a lot of the fan base are raving over a great goal that he scored in the fixture.
The Belgian capped off a beautiful counter attack with a curling strike from outside the box, and this is exactly what the player needed to give him some much-needed confidence.
The 29 year-old scored 17 goals in his first season for the Eagles (Transfermarkt), but has struggled ever since and only managed six goals in the following three campaigns.
He has received a lot of praise when playing to his full potential, notably from former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert, who said: “Benteke has been colossal for us, he’s been unplayable in certain games.”
With Wilfried Zaha’s great form and the arrival on Michy Batshuayi on loan, Benteke has not had a lot of chances to impress this season, so performances like the one in the U23 game are vital if he wants to prove he can have a future at the club.
