After Man City loanee Angelino bagged a brace for RB Leipzig during their 2-0 Champions League win over Istanbul Basaksehir, plenty of City supporters have voiced their outrage about Txiki Begiristain’s decision not to keep him at the Etihad.
The Spaniard, who re-signed for the Sky Blues at the end of last season, saw limited game time under Pep Guardiola during his first full campaign back at the Etihad.
Starting just four Premier League matches (WhoScored), Angelino was loaned out to RB Leipzig in January where he impressed, resulting in the Bundesliga outfit taking up the option to take him on loan again for 2020/2021.
On Tuesday, the 23-year-old showcased just why City supporters feel their club should have given him a chance – with the youngster bagging a Champions League brace.
As a result, Sky Blues have fumed about director of football Begiristain’s decision to loan him out with a puchase option included in the deal when Guardiola is already short on left-back cover.
