Despite the transfer window currently being closed, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is being linked with a move away from the club.
According to Todofichajes, via Anfield Edition, Real Madrid are keen on signing Roberto Firmino next summer. The report also suggests that the forward is open to a fresh start, having accomplished his goals at Anfield.
This news has seen a very mixed reaction from the Reds fan base. Some want him to stay, which makes perfect sense as he has been a vital part of Jurgen Klopp’s revolution. The Brazilian has featured 252 times, scoring 79 goals and picking up 62 assists along the way, (Transfermarkt).
However he is the striker at the club, and many are seemingly not happy with his lack of goals as of late. Since the start of 2020, Firmino has only scored four goals in 25 appearances.
The Brazilian has featured in Liverpool’s last 44 Premier League games though and this emphasises that despite his lack of goals, Klopp clearly values him. Plenty of supporters do too, with one fan below calling Firmino ‘the most unique centre forward’.
