‘This is the way’ – Nuno outlines transfer vision for Wolves squad as he seeks to 'evolve'

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to see his side move to the next level as he continues to embed his philosophy at Molineux.

Nuno’s cunning plan

The 46-year-old has been inspirational for the West Midlands outfit since his arrival during the summer of 2017, guiding them to the Premier League and cementing their position in the top flight.

From 162 games in charge, Nuno has accumulated a points-per-game average of 1.78, winning 84 matches and scoring 249 goals as he enters his fourth campaign in charge (as per TransferMarkt).

After guiding them to a place in the Europa League during his first season in England’s top tier, the Portuguese tactician doesn’t appear to be finished there. Speaking with Sky Sports, Nuno elaborated on his vision and has big things planned for the Molineux faithful.

“We are looking to evolve our game,” he said.

“Some players went out, some players came in, and that changes the picture of the squad. By changing the picture of the squad, by changing some of the characteristics of our players, our options and our ideas are slightly different, and the game itself changes.

“But it is not about changing our fundamentals, the foundation that we have. It is not about changing our philosophy. It is about making us more versatile in some moments. It is about adding things that can make us, at the end of the day, better, and not so predictable.

“We have a lot of work to do and it will take time, patience and persistence. But I think this is the way.”

Exciting times ahead

This should excite Wolves fans, as there is no doubt that Nuno has done a fantastic job in the Molineux hot seat so far. Winning the Championship during his first season in charge and two consecutive seventh-place finishes is a fantastic achievement, considering where they were under Paul Lambert.

The prospect of Wolves achieving more in the next few years is the next big test for them, and evolving his squad is the right way to do just that as he looks to further cement his miraculous work at Molineux.
