Many Liverpool fans let rip at midfielder Naby Keita after Jurgen Klopp ruled him out of today’s Premier League showdown with Everton at Goodison Park.
The German tactician stated in his pre-match press conference that the 25-year-old will miss the Premier League champions’ trip to their arch-rivals on the other side of Stanley Park.
Keita had reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and is not deemed to have fully recovered to such an extent where he would be considered for selection by Klopp in what is a huge game for the Reds.
Liverpool are aiming to bounce back from a dismal 7-2 defeat against Aston Villa before the international break with a win against the current league leaders, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side sporting a perfect record from their opening four games.
Although this latest setback is not due to physical issues, Keita has struggled with injuries since his move from RB Leipzig in 2018, missing a total of 28 games, as per TransferMarkt.
Big things were expected from Keita and some of the fans below believe that he has been largely underwhelming. Some have gone as far as saying that they would like to see him sold during the January transfer window.
