Gary Lineker has tipped Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin to get his first call-up to the senior England national team after a very impressive start to the 2020/21 term.
The BBC and Match of the Day presenter retweeted with “this chap” and included Calvert-Lewin’s Twitter handle after the Three Lions asked in a tweet who their followers would like to see included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for their triple-header of internationals against Wales, Belgium and Denmark.

Indeed, the 23-year old has been enjoying a very impressive season so far with the Merseyside club, most recently coming off the back of a fine hat-trick in the Toffees’ 4-1 win against West Ham United at Goodison Park in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Calvert-Lewin scored another hat-trick versus West Bromwich Albion in the Blues’ first Premier League home game in a 5-2 victory, and has now scored eight goals in just five matches in all competitions so far, according to Transfermarkt.
The striker has also enjoyed a fine scoring record at international level, scoring no fewer than 13 times at youth level in 31 appearances combined for the Under-20 and Under-21 teams, as per the website.
For Lineker to tip Calvert-Lewin for an England call-up is a huge testament to just how well he has done so far in this campaign, given that the Leicester City fan netted 48 strikes in 80 senior international games for the Three Lions (via Transfermarkt).
Whether Southgate does indeed reward DCL for his displays is another question, but he is certainly knocking at the door of the manager.
