'Fair play to Parkinson', 'Credit is due' - Many SAFC fans ecstatic over one thing after 2-0 win
Many Sunderland fans have heaped praise on the club’s defensive performance against Swindon Town which ultimately helped the Black Cats to a 2-0 win on Saturday.
After opening the League One season with a 1-1 draw against Bristol Rovers last month, the Wearsiders have been impressive, remaining unbeaten in the following four league games and winning three.
Returning from the international break to face Swindon, Phil Parkinson saw his team produce a solid away performance which kept them fifth in the league table. Charlie Wyke took advantage of his starting berth and found the back of the net before half-time, whilst Chris Maguire scored from the spot to continue his impressive run of form.
A fourth clean sheet in five league games has seen the likes of Bailey Wright and his defensive partners praised, and many fans of the club have now reacted via Twitter to the club’s defensive solidity.
Below we have taken a look at some of the tweets in reply to Sunderland’s official Twitter account posting their own thoughts on the performance of the club’s backline.

Positive signs that even with a depleted squad, we still win comfortably.
Parkinson deserves credit for what he’s done with the defence. https://t.co/mefhBmFwVN
