Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a report from Denmark claiming that the club have submitted a €10m (£9m) bid for FC Copenhagen defender Victor Nelsson.
With the new Premier League season underway, Villa boss Dean Smith will be hoping to build on his side’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United and halt a potential relegation battle similar to last term.
Villa currently have the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa as the club’s main centre back options with Kourtney Hause and Bjorn Engels sitting in reserve.
And, it now looks like Smith could be set to bring in a fifth centre-back in the shape of Nelsson, who has been playing for Copenhagen.
Reacting to the claim via Twitter account @villareport, fans shared their opinion and many seemed happy with the link. One even suggested that Nelsson could be “the next [Martin] Laursen” – indeed he too was a Danish centre-half who represented the Villans on 91 occasions, even scoring 11 goals.
Makes sense. Plays for Copenhagen , where Lange came from. Only 21 and can play in a variety of positions (CB,CM,CDM). Need to sell either Engels or Hause though 🤷🏻♂️

If this cb is any good . Wouldn’t mind us playing 343 with target and cash as wing backs. Mings on the left . Konsa in the middle and Nelson as the right centre half. That could cover targett defensively.

Feel like its a good deal. Been saying this whole tome that our defence was shambles last season and that it needs reinforcments. Bringing him in would add cover while engels is out and act as competition for ezri to push him even more. Solid young player with 54 aps last term
