'Pathetic', 'What an amazing coincidence' - Many RFC fans livid at newspaper article
Glasgow Rangers picked up another three points at the weekend as they beat Motherwell at Fir Park.
The ‘Gers were in good form against the ‘Well, winning 5-1 in the end thanks to braces from James Tavernier and Cedric Itten, whilst Jordan Jones also got himself on the scoresheet. The only slight blemish was George Edmundson’s own goal which prevented the Ibrox outfit from picking up a clean sheet.
There was a certain amount of controversy from the win, though. Both of Tavernier’s goals came from the penalty spot, and there have been questions about whether either of them should have been awarded as spot kicks. Subsequently, the Daily Record has questioned whether the handball rule is actually correct as they analysed the game’s big decisions.
As you can imagine, some ‘Gers supporters are far from happy with the article. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

What an amazing coincidence that the handball law is coming “under the microscope” only now, just as Rangers are awarded first league penalty in nearly a year. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/1u2HqBZu9r

Is Lawwell holding the microscope? https://t.co/0XaxY0gTRV

Motherwell have conceded 8 penalties in 12 games this season and these 2 are the only decisions that come under the microscope?

Wonder if this dying rag plans on putting ref decisions under “the microscope” every week, or just when decisions involving Rangers are concerned. Sooner it goes bust the better https://t.co/Nw1cdDrRIO
