Sports'They are prepared to sell' - Agent of £1.5m Gers target speaks out, confirms daily RFC contact
Kristiyan Malinov’s agent, Marko Mihalevich, has said that he is in daily contact with Glasgow Rangers in regards to his client.
The Gers have been linked with a move for the Bulgaria international, who is set to demand a fee of £1.5m.
Mihalevich said: “We maintain daily contact with Rangers, but we cannot ignore other teams who also want Kristiyan.
“Rangers have told us they like his qualities and fighting spirit.
“He will choose the club that offers him the best development project. He is an ambitious player and it is important to him to play in an ambitious team.
“CSKA know the situation and are aware that Kristiyan wants to take the next step in his career. They have put a fair price on him, in my opinion and they are prepared to sell him.
“He’s been one of their best and most consistent players.
“There’s been speculation about him going to Universitatea Craiova in Romania, but that’s not true. But there are teams in Germany and Turkey who are certainly interested.”
This is big news for Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson’s pursuit of the CSKA Sofia midfielder. It is quite clear that there is interest in the midfielder, and perhaps these comments are with the hope that the Ibrox outfit will make a concrete move for the 26-year-old – he has mentioned them explicitly here.
Of course, the two pre-season performances against Lyon and Nice do not give the whole picture as to where the Gers stand right now, but you would think that any new signings would need to be of a particularly high standard to break into the starting XI on a regular basis. It is now up to the 54-time Scottish champions to make their move and convince the player to move to Glasgow – if they really want to.
