Newcastle given potentially huge boost ahead of Watford game - Opinion

Newcastle United could potentially have been given a huge boost ahead of their game in the Premier League against Nigel Pearson’s Watford as Steve Bruce said in his press conference (via Andy Sixsmith)  he hopes that Allan Saint-Maximin, Jamaal Lascelles and Miguel Almiron will all be back for the match, but will have to see how they are in training first.

All three men missed the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as Bruce faced an injury crisis that saw him start right-back Emil Krafth in the centre of defence as well as central defender Fabian Schar in the heart of midfield, as per Sofascore.

However, the possibility of having Saint-Maximin, Almiron and Lascelles will surely be a welcome boost to the Tyneside club and increase their chances of beating the Hornets.

The former two have been a great attacking influence to the Magpies so far in the 2019/20 Premier League season, scoring seven goals and making six assists between them, according to Whoscored.

Lascelles has been fairly solid at the back, helping his team keep seven clean sheets in the 23 games that he has played in, while also showing his leadership on the pitch as the club captain.

The Toon may well need all three of them to be at the top of their game as they can expect to face a battle against the Hertfordshire side, who are currently fighting relegation being just one place and three points above the drop zone (via Premier League website).

Nevertheless, if all three players are available for the match, then it will potentially give a huge boost to NUFC.
