Sports'Better than Pickford', 'Get Pope in' - Plenty of Everton fans react as transfer update breaks
Plenty of Everton fans have been reacting to the latest transfer news that Salvatore Sirigu has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato.
However, as per the outlet, Napoli are also interested in securing his services, as well as two other unnamed teams in the Premier League.
Sirigu could be a smart signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as the 33-year old has certainly had an impressive club career playing for the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Sevilla before moving to Torino, and he is also a full senior international for his native Italy (via Transfermarkt).
One member of the Goodison Park faithful suggested that he is ‘better than Pickford’, and with 0 errors leading to goals to his name in the Serie A compared with the Englishman’s three so far in the 2019/20 season in the top flight, perhaps he would be a more reliable option in between the sticks.
However, another EFC supporter claimed to ‘get Pope in’ instead, as the Burnley ace currently holds the most clean sheets so far in this campaign in England’s highest division (per the league’s official website).
