Basham starts, £7.2m-valued man on the bench: Sheff Utd predicted XI v Leicester

Sheffield United have three games left in the Premier League season and, when they were looking at the fixture list at the start of the campaign, many may have thought that they would need to pick up points to try and beat the drop at this stage.

However, these games are crucial for a much better reason as the Blades battle for Europe, and three points in their match against Leicester City this evening would put them in a great place to secure a top seven finish, per BBC Sport.

The game is massively important for both sides, as the Foxes continue to battle for a Champions League place, but if the Blades were to win, they would only be two points behind Leicester and this could mean Chris Wilder’s men may be fighting for a top four finish in the final two games. Here is the TT predicted XI, which sees Wilder trust the team that performed so well last time out against Chelsea on Saturday.

David McGoldrick scored two of the goals  in that 3-0 win over the Blues, as well as picking up an 8.8 rating on SofaScore. These were his first two Premier League goals and, with the forward full of confidence, there is no way that Wilder can drop him for the Leicester match.

Oliver McBurnie also scored on Saturday and, with Lys Mousset missing a chance to make it 4-0 when he came off the bench, Wilder will likely go with McBurnie again to pair up with McGoldrick.

Lundstram, who is valued at £7.2m, came off the bench in the last 25 minutes, which shows he is fully fit after the minor injury he suffered a few weeks ago. However, with the Blades on a good run as of late, he may struggle to get back into the team.

Also, with the Foxes boasting a lot of creative talent in the middle of the pitch like Youri Tielemans, Harvey Barnes and Ayoze Perez (19 goals and 22 assists combined this season), a strong central midfielder is needed. This is a role in which Sander Berge has impressed since signing. John Fleck remains injured, so Ben Osborn and Oliver Norwood will probably complete the midfield trio.

Meanwhile, the back five kept a clean sheet on Saturday so there should be no need for change. The only worry was that Chris Basham came off with a head injury but this was more a precaution and he will have a late fitness test to see if he is ready for the game. If so, it is very likely that Wilder will select him for the game.
