Alisson Becker is on course for his second successive Golden Glove award after another astonishing season in the net for Liverpool.
The Brazilian shot-stopper joined the Reds in the summer of 2018 for a world record fee for a goalkeeper of £67 million from Roma (via Sky Sports). Since his arrival, he has helped transform Liverpool’s backline into a well-oiled defensive machine.
In his debut season in red, Alisson scooped the Golden Glove award after he broke another record. He kept an incredible 21 clean sheets in the 2018/19 campaign, and with 10 to his name this term, he is on track for a successive accolade (via Premier League).
Even after missing nine matches this season, through both injury and suspension, the 27-year-old has the second highest clean sheet record in the league. He is currently tied with Kasper Schmeichel and Dean Henderson on 10, with only Nick Pope in front on 11 (also per Premier League).
Liverpool fans still can’t believe their luck when they see how far their defence has come and have flocked to Liverpool’s recent post to heap praise on him.
