'Total and utter joke', 'Incompetence' - Many RFC fans livid at 'standard scaremongering'
Glasgow Rangers will be keeping an eye on the legal battle involving Hearts and Partick Thistle.
On Monday, the 42 clubs in Scotland’s top four tiers were asked to vote on the possibility of a reconstruction of the league system in the country – a 14-10-10-10 structure had been proposed instead of the 12-10-10-10 currently in place. However, in the end, only 16 clubs felt that was the best way forward for the game in Scotland.
As such, Hearts have been relegated to the second tier, whilst Partick Thistle have been demoted to League One as they too were in the drop zone when the season was prematurely ended. The two sides have now confirmed that they will be taking legal action against the SPFL.
However, a report has emerged indicating that there is a plan to stop that. According to the Daily Record, other clubs are considering expelling the duo following their compensation claim.
This appears to have angered these ‘Gers supporters and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts – one fan even called it “standard scaremongering”. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:

Standard scaremongering and bullying from the SPFL. Mind the illegal transfer embargo they gave us? Mind they tried to take our titles? This is what they do. They make up the rules as they go and scare clubs into doing their bidding. Never in the best interests of football. https://t.co/CGL0QuQuUN

If the spfl had not coerced clubs to end the leagues we would not be here, That’s before I mention the debts they have created from tv coverage. Incompetence.

Quite happy for Hearts, Thistle, Falkirk and Stranraer to suffer the financial consequences of SPFL decisions, but if those same decisions have financial consequences for them, then it’s expulsion time?
You can have authority without responsibility in the SPFL it seems. 🙄
