Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Bongani Zungu has picked up a knock during international duty with South Africa.
The 28-year-old joined up with his national side during the two-week break, with the Bafana Bafana facing Sierra Leone twice as they attempt to qualify for the African Cup of Nations. In the first clash, he scored in a 2-0 victory, whilst he started the second clash as well, which South Africa prevailed 4-2.
However, there has been some bad news for the Gers upon his return to Ibrox. During his pre-match press conference ahead of the Aberdeen clash at the weekend, Gerrard confirmed that Zungu has returned with an issue.
This revelation has attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters, and it is fair to say they aren’t too happy. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
