'Serial failures', 'Dreadful' - Many SWFC fans react to 'uninspiring' Dom Howson update
It was a wild start to the week for Sheffield Wednesday fans as Garry Monk was sacked. This has left many second-guessing who will be coming in to replace him.
It’s safe to say that many Owls fans are not happy with some the names in contention following the latest Dom Howson update.
The journalist said that he is ‘not surprised to hear that Sven-Goran Eriksson has expressed an interest in the #SWFC job.’ He also highlighted that: ‘Tony Pulis looks the favourite, as things stand, to succeed.’ One fan has highlighted how some of the fans feel as he said, ‘Dreadful uninspiring outdated appointment’
Eriksson and Pulis are both currently unemployed. However, the Swede hasn’t managed a club in England since he had the Leicester City role in 2010 so Pulis definitely looks like the better option of the two.
The former Stoke City and Crystal Palace manager has a great record in the Premier League and has never been relegated from the top flight. He also has great experience in the Championship with the Potters and other big sides like Middlesborough. However, his style of football seems to be something that the Owls fans do not want to see.
Here is how Sheffield Wednesday fans reacted following the Howson update:
Off work this week but not surprised to hear that Sven-Goran Eriksson has expressed an interest in the #SWFC job. He threw his hat in the ring for the gig last year.
But Tony Pulis looks the favourite, as things stand, to succeed GM. Talks ongoing. Club want an appointment ASAP.

Same serial failures in the frame as 14 months ago when we appointed Monk. There’s a reason they all out of work.

Doesn’t matter who we appoint, none come with a guarantee, we will either get lucky or we won’t. Most managers in our range have at least one failure on their CV, or they are novices #swfc #football

Managers need to adapt to the times and Pulis would take us back to the Megson era of long ball and unattractive football. We need a more modern manager like Eddie Howe to bring an energy to a very flat and disjointed squad. Pulis won’t do that.

Please not Eriksson, he’s surely past his sell by date, much prefer a young eager passionate manager, think all Sheffield people appreciate hard work, that’s what we want from our sides

Does Sven think there is money to be thrown at him? He’s a mercenary for the £££ I can’t believe he keeps applying!
