Report: Everton plotting January loan exit for £18m-valued star who wins 5.3 duels a game

Jean-Philippe Gbamin may be set to leave Everton on loan in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider.

As per the football news outlet, the Goodison Park faithful want the Ivory Coast international to move out on loan to reignite his career and hopefully come back a stronger player.

Indeed, Gbamin has been posting videos of his training and work in the gym ahead of his proposed return to the first team at the end of the year.

Gbamin has been plagued by injuries

Gbamin has been plagued by injuries ever since his move from Mainz, missing a grand total of 46 games in all competitions over the 2019/20 term due to an Achilles tendon rupture and problems with his hamstring (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, the defensive midfield player will want his opportunity to show Carlo Ancelotti and the fans why the Merseyside club paid £22.5m for his services in August of last year.

Gbamin was a rock before his injuries

Indeed, Gbamin was a rock before his injuries while playing in the German top flight, winning no fewer than 5.3 of his duels per game and also averaging 1.6 tackles and one interception per match in the 2018/19 season (Sofascore).

His ability to win the ball back can give license for the attacking stars to go forward that bit more, so he could be an important asset to the Everton side for the future.

Should Gbamin go out on loan?

Indeed, with the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure being bought in the summer transfer window, perhaps Gbamin would struggle to break into the first team once he fully recovers from his injury woes.

Thus, it may be a wise idea to send the £18m-valued star out on loan in order to find his feet, and more importantly, his fitness, again.
