‘It’s not going to happen’ – Celtic fans should be worried after bold prediction is made

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor predicts that Celtic will not have it all their own way this season in the Scottish Premiership.

Bent has Bhoys concerns

Neil Lennon’s side have found themselves playing catchup to arch-rivals Rangers after just 12 games, with Steven Gerrard’s side nine points ahead of them having played two matches more than the Bhoys (via BBC Sport).

Celtic have only lost one game this season, which happened to be against the other half of Glasgow during a 2-0 defeat at Parkhead last month.

Due to this gap between the clubs, Agbonlahor told Football Insider that the Gers’ motivation to stop Celtic securing 10-in-a-row will mean that it will be tough for the Hoops to win the title.

“The trophy cabinet must be overflowing with the amount they’re winning,” he said. “I feel like the problem with football is what do they want, Celtic to win every game for the rest of time?

“It’s not going to happen. Teams are going to get better, they’re going to build squads which can challenge Celtic and that’s what Rangers are doing.

“It’s good, it’s great for Scottish football that it’s happening. It used to be: ‘Alright, Celtic are going to win it.’

“You couldn’t even get odds on it at the start of the season but now it’s getting closer and that’s what everyone as a neutral wants to see.”

Transfer Tavern take

The Premiership table doesn’t lie, and it backs up Agbonlahor’s theory. Lennon and his players will have to dig deep if they are to create history this season.

The absence of the fans might be affecting them, with Rangers looking to cope a lot better without their supporters. Having not won a game in Europe and with the sensational atmosphere that Parkhead produces, Celtic will be delighted when the supporters are allowed back into the famous stadium.

After their convincing win against Motherwell before the international break, it is imperative that the Hoops hit the ground running and win their games in hand to keep pace.

In other news, ‘Peerless’ Celtic star could return for Easter Road clash if ‘Cafu-like’ star misses out.
