Gers target who 'could have made it big time at Real Madrid' is determined to make Ibrox move
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Jack Wilshere is determined to move to Glasgow Rangers.
Wilshere wants Ibrox move
The report says that Spanish side Valencia have been interested in the 34-time England international. However, it seems that they are now looking at Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl as Wilshere is “determined” to move to Ibrox.
The Gers, of course, have been heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old ever since his contract at West Ham was terminated.
Heading to Rangers?
There has been plenty of interest in Wilshere from the Gers, but this is the first time there has been an indication that he would actually like to move north of the border. Previously, it had been suggested that the former Arsenal man was looking for a move abroad – Valencia would have fit that bill.
By this point, Wilshere’s talents are well-known. He made 198 appearances for Arsenal before departing, whilst he has earned plenty of plaudits throughout his career. Xavi Hernandez said he was the “future of English football” in the past, while former teammate Cesc Fabregas insisted he “could have made it big time at Real Madrid or Barcelona”.
If Steven Gerrard can convince him to move to Rangers, it would be huge coup. His desire to actually move there now makes the Gers’ job so much easier.
In other news, Rangers fans are delighted by this latest resignation.
