'A lot of pain’ - Tottenham update over injury worry for ‘phenomenal’ star
According to football.london, after ‘phenomenal‘ Spurs star Tanguy Ndombele picked up a painful knock against West Brom, there has now been an update that suggests that his substitution was a purely a tactical decision from Jose Mourinho and that he should be fine to play against Man City.
Ndombele, who has been in fine form for Spurs this season, just in time for the postponed Euro 2020 tournament, had supporters gasping when he went down in ‘a lot of pain‘ against the Baggies last weekend.
Ndombele breakdown
The 23-year-old, after a summer of unrest behind the scenes and transfer links away from the club, has now worked his way back into Mourinho’s plans, impressing both on and off the field.
As a result, when the player appeared in some discomfort during Spurs’ last outing, reliable correspondent Alasdair Gold, like many fans, was worried.
However, as per this latest update, Lilywhites can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Mourinho’s decision to bring off Ndombele was purely tactical and not as the result of a serious injury.
Transfer Tavern take
Despite Ndombele’s pain, it appears that Spurs will still have their rejuvenated star back in time for the crunch clash against Man City.
Thriving in a more advanced, attacking role under Mourinho this season – Ndombele has been allowed to express his creativity and flair in the final third just behind star striker Harry Kane.
Potentially forcing Dele Alli out of the team, it’s safe to say the club record signing is slowly but surely justifying his £53.8 million price tag.
