2.5 dribbles per game: Everton target with 'incredible pace' may be available for just £4.5m
Memphis Depay may be available for as little as €5m (£4.5m) in the January transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.
As per the Spanish news outlet, FC Barcelona, who were reportedly interested in signing the Netherlands international in the summer transfer window, value him at no more than five or six million euros, as his current deal with Lyon is set to expire in the summer of 2021.
Indeed, this may put Everton on red alert, as he has reportedly been linked with a move to the Merseyside club.
Depay would be a superb capture
Depay would be a great signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s team as he is more than capable of stepping in if the likes of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin are injured or misfiring in front of goal for a long period of time.
The 26 year-old has already scored five goals and supplied a further three assists in ten matches Ligue 1 so far in the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt), highlighting that he has an eye for both a goal and a killer pass.
Versatile qualities
Indeed, Depay has other qualities too, as he can use his ‘incredible pace’ to get in behind sides and cause defenders in the Premier League real chaos when running at them.
He has won no fewer than 4.6 of his duels per game in France’s highest division so far this term, and has also averaged 2.8 key passes, 2.5 shots and 2.5 successful dribbles per appearance (Sofascore).
Depay can be ‘world class’ on his day, and potentially signing him for as little as £4.5m would be an absolute bargain for the Toffees.
