0 dribbles, key passes or shots: Bruce signing continues horrid NUFC form on international duty
Jeff Hendrick continued his quite horrid form for Newcastle United while on international duty for the Republic of Ireland versus England last night.
The central midfield player was at fault for the second goal for the Three Lions, scored by Jadon Sancho, which prompted Manchester United and Irish legend Roy Keane to slam his defensive work as ‘not good enough’.
Hendrick was shocking
Indeed, given that Ireland lost 3-0 on the night, Hendrick was certainly not a help defensively for his team. The former Burnley man made just one successful tackle and zero interceptions in the whole game (Fotmob).
He could perhaps have been excused for his poor defensive work in he offered a threat on the attacking side of things for his country, but rest assured he could not manage this either.
Hendrick failed to register a single shot, key pass or successful dribble in the entirety of the match, earning him a rather measly six overall rating by Fotmob.
Hendrick is on horrid form for Newcastle
Indeed, the midfielder has been struggling for a while now for the St. James’ Park faithful.
He has not scored or assisted a single goal since the opening day of the 2020/21 Premier League term, and several fans have started to lose their patience with him constantly being named in the starting line-up by Steve Bruce.
Nonetheless, Hendrick will surely have to improve on his awful displays of late for both club and country if he is to win the Toon Army over.
In other news, find out which pundit heard whispers of one star joining the Magpies here!
