Things just aren’t going Alfredo Morelos’ way at the moment at Glasgow Rangers.
There was a time when the Colombia international was undoubtedly Steven Gerrard’s star striker – 82 goals in 151 matches tends to do that. However, it has been a turbulent few months for the 24-year-old at Ibrox. It looked like he would be on the way out of the club for much of the summer transfer window, with him even agreeing personal terms with Lille. In the end he stayed put, although he did not escape the wrath of Gerrard, who kept him out of the starting line-up for three successive games.
Morelos started the Gers’ latest match in the Europa League against Standard Liege last night. His side may have won 2-0 but the forward was a shadow of his best, winning just two from 11 duels as he continually struggled with his first touch, losing possession 14 times.
These supporters were far from happy with his display and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts – one even said he had “a touch like a baby elephant”.
