Sports'Hendo's future replacement', 'Get it done' - Many LFC fans delighted as £50m man is linked
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are set to do battle with Tottenham in the race to sign Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips’ reputation has soared over the last 12 months or so. The 24-year-old was instrumental to Leeds United’s promotion push last season, averaging a WhoScored rating of 7.22 across 37 matches. That form saw him called up to the England squad, and he’s already been awarded three caps.
As such, it is being said that the Premier League champions are eyeing the midfielder, with The Mirror saying that Phillips could command a fee of around £50m.
Phillips is certainly an interesting player with a bright future, but with Thiago Alcantara coming in from Bayern Munich in the summer, it remains unclear as to whether Jurgen Klopp really needs more additions in the middle of the park. Either way, though, it seems like these Reds fans would be delighted to have him at Anfield.
