'A matter of time' - Pundit says 29-cap Spurs man will soon leave Mourinho and co behind
Danny Mills has told Football Insider that it is only a matter of time before Danny Rose leaves Tottenham Hotspur.
Wilting Rose
Somehow, Rose is still on the books at Spurs. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United, whilst he was even the subject of a deadline day bid from Watford – he turned it down. He is yet to play a minute under Jose Mourinho this season.
Mills therefore believes that the 30-year-old will be out of the door in north London sooner rather than later. He said:
“It’s one of those situations, Danny Rose needs to play football.
“As much as he says that he says he doesn’t have a huge love of football, there’s nothing worse than going somewhere every day where you’re not wanted.
“I think this is now posturing as to who is going to break first. Who is prepared to give up the ghost and say ‘alright, have your money, I’m off’ and get it done that way.
“It’s more a matter of time, I would suggest both parties want to make it happen and both parties will do everything in the power to make it happen.”
Best for everyone involved at Spurs
It really does feel as though Rose’s time at the club is coming to an end. He has become a bit-part player at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Sergio Reguilon’s arrival from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window has not helped his chances at all.
When he does depart, though, he will surely have a number of suitors interested in his services. After all, he has 29 England caps to his name, and has made 194 appearances in the Premier League. His experience will be valuable to someone – that team, though, will not be Tottenham.
