Sports'Thanks for the memories', 'Time to go' – Many LFC fans respond to David Lynch's Thiago update
Yet another curveball has been thrown to Liverpool fans regarding the club’s current situation with Thiago Alcantara.
According to David Lynch (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), the Reds will only look to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder if another midfielder leaves Anfield.
The report hasn’t specified who is being considered for the chop, but a lot of Liverpool fans are singing from the same hymn sheet. It seems Gini Wijnaldum is the player being offered up for sale from supporters after a disappointing run of form since football resumed.
Liverpool have dipped in form since they won the Premier League, winning just two of five matches (via Sofascore). Wijnaldum has gone completely under the radar with his performances, with his worst since the restart being a measly 6.3 against Brighton.
With Thiago’s Anfield fate potentially hanging in the balance, many fans are already bidding goodbye to the Dutchman. One supporter has tweeted ‘Wijnaldum is gone’ whilst another has bluntly stated ‘it’s time to go’.
