Report: More details revealed in Amanda Staveley court case amid Newcastle takeover

More details have been revealed in the court case that Amanda Staveley is involved in as she was referred to as a ‘dolly bird’ and a ‘tart’ in a previous telephone call 12 years ago by two then Barclays bosses, as per The Chronicle.

Richard Boath and Roger Jenkins were both involved in the evening conversation that undermined the businesswoman, who is part of the Saudi Arabian-led group trying to take over Newcastle United.

She has made complaints about the behaviour of the two men in court when they were negotiating investment deals at the back end of 2008, as she argues that Barclays agreed to provide an unsecured £2 billion loan to Qatari investors, but that loan was ‘concealed’, as per the outlet.

PCP Capital Partners, in which Staveley is head of, are now trying to sue the bank for £1.6 billion worth in damages and costs, with Mr Justice Waksman judging the case that will run into August.

The 47-year old will surely be hoping not only that she wins the case but that it will not last long, so that she can focus her attention on trying to get the prospective takeover over the line.

Among the rest of the buying side is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) and his country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), as well as the billionaire Reuben brothers, who are originally from India but are based in London.

Nevertheless, Staveley and co will be hoping that the Premier League make a final decision on the £300 million deal with Mike Ashley sooner rather than later.
