‘He told me’ - Journalist makes transfer claim after ‘exchange of messages’ with Spurs' Paratici
Speaking to Kiss Kiss Napoli, as relayed by Area Napoli and translated by Sport Witness, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has made an inside Tottenham Hotspur claim after personally exchanging messages with Fabio Paratici.
The Lowdown: Paratici on the prowl?
Since it was announced by Spurs that the club have appointed renowned transfer guru Paratici, with chairman Daniel Levy calling him a ‘tough negotiator’, they have been linked to a host of managers and new signings.
Indeed, the likes of Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso appeared to only come into the frame once the Italian was hired by Spurs.
A host of links to Serie A stars soon followed, including the likes of Domenico Berardi and Manuel Locatelli, who have both been in dazzling form for the Azzurri at Euro 2020.
The Latest: Venerato drops inside Paratici claim…
Speaking to Kiss Kiss Napoli, reporter Venerato has shared some information for Tottenham fans after personally messaging the 48-year-old.
The journalist has explained what Paratici told him over the phone in regards to a possible swoop for Italy international star and Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne.
“Thirty minutes ago, I had an exchange of messages with Fabio Paratici, now manager of Tottenham,” Venerato said (via Sport Witness).
“He told me that Insigne will not land in the Premier League.”
The Verdict: Disappointing…
This arguably comes as a disappointing update for Spurs fans, especially given Insigne’s fine form on the international stage recently.
He has been a mainstay under the now Spurs-linked Roberto Mancini, dazzling for the four-time World Cup winners as they seek to win only their second ever European Championship title, the last one coming over 50 years ago.
Insigne’s brilliant numbers at club level are testament to his quality as well, having scored 19 Serie A goals over 2020/2021 whilst averaging more shots on goal per 90 than Tottenham superstar Harry Kane in that time (WhoScored).
The attacker would have been a statement summer signing by Spurs, but it appears Paratici has no intention to move.
