SportsGareth Bale concern emerges for Spurs as Man City clash looms
According to the Manchester Evening News, Gareth Bale is a concern ahead of Tottenham’s looming clash with Man City on Saturday – with the Welsh superstar reportedly holding a worry over playing against opponents who later tested positive for coronavirus.
Bale, who has slowly been working his way back to full fitness, often utilised carefully by manager Jose Mourinho as he seeks to get the best out of Spurs’ headline-grabbing summer signing, would have been likely to feature against the Sky Blues.
Bale worry emerges for Spurs
However, as reported by the MEN, Bale holds a concern ahead of City’s visit – having come up against players on international duty who were later proven to have been exposed to the virus.
Spurs players have had to go through vigorous testing upon their return from action, with the likes of Son Heung-min in particular having to quarantine at one stage due to a handful of South Korea players testing positive.
There have been few reports on Bale needing to do the same, however, as the 31-year-old holds this potential worry as Spurs take on Man City. He will of course be tested between now and kick-off on Saturday.

This concern, while not confirmed, could be something to ponder as Tottenham look to secure victory on their first Premier League outing since the two-week hiatus.
Mourinho and co will know their best team heading into the encounter, with the Portuguese boss currently having his pick of first team players bar Erik Lamela, Matt Doherty, Steven Bergwijn and potentially Japhet Tanganga, who may not be back in time (football.london).
If Bale were to miss the clash, it would undoubtedly be a huge blow.
